PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Adelphi


The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Adelphi Thursday night. The victim is 40-year-old Serge Deumeni of Gerrards Hope Drive in Bowie. The preliminary investigation reveals the victim was struck by two vehicles. The driver of the first car remained on the scene. The driver of the second car did not stay on the scene. Investigators are working to identify the second driver. 
 
On November 23rd, at about 7:30 pm, patrol officers were called to the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road for the report of a pedestrian collision. The victim was found deceased in the roadway.  
 
The preliminary investigation reveals Deumeni attempted to cross New Hampshire Avenue when he was struck by the first car. The second car then struck the victim.
