PGPD Searches for Missing Teen

UPDATED October 4, 2017: Ms. Ramirez has been located.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing girl. She is identified as 13-year-old Gariella Ramirez. She was last seen in the 3400 block of Cherry Hill Court in Beltsville at about 12:30 am on September 25, 2017.

Ramirez is described as a Hispanic female, 5’3”, and 115 pounds.

Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting in Temple Hills

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting in Temple Hills. The victim is 20-year-old Ibrahim Kamara of Hannah Way in Upper Marlboro. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random shooting. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On September 27th, at about 12:40 am, patrol officers were called to the 4000 block of Rocky Mount Drive for a shooting. When they arrived, they found the victim outside with a gunshot wound to his body. He died at the scene.

Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify suspect(s).

Detectives Charge High School Student for Bringing Gun to School

Detectives charged a high school student for bringing a gun to school on Tuesday and for assaulting an officer. The suspect is 17-year-old Xavier Matthews of the 2000 block of Iverson Street in Temple Hills. He is charged as an adult.

On September 26th, around 9:25 am, a School Resource Officer at Potomac High School was notified by a teacher that a trespasser was inside of the school. The School Resource Officer located Matthews who was last seen with the trespasser. While interviewing Matthews, he assaulted our officer and was arrested. During a search, the officer recovered a gun from Matthews. Out of an abundance of caution, school officials placed the school on lockdown.

Officers were able to quickly identify the juvenile trespasser. He was seen on surveillance video leaving the school and the lockdown was lifted.

Matthews is charged with assault and for carrying a handgun on school property. He’s being held on a $5,000 bond.

Robbery Suspect Targeting Cell Phone Stores

We first told you about this suspect in last week’s Wanted Wednesday. Now we’ve got a much clearer picture of the suspect. The Robbery Unit is actively working to identify and arrest him. He’s currently connected with three separate commercial armed robberies. In each case, he targeted cell phone stores. He’s linked to a robbery in the 3400 block of Branch Avenue on September 16th,  a robbery on September 14th in the 5400 block of St. Barnabas Road and a third robbery in the 4500 block of St. Barnabas Road on September 6th

Burglary at VFW Post in College Park
 
He’s trying to hide his face, but we hope someone still recognizes him and gives us a call. This is the picture of a suspect we’d like to talk to about a burglary at the Phillips-Kleiner VFW Post in College Park. The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect smashed the front door of the Post on Branchville Road on September 14th. Once inside, he stole cash and bottles of alcohol. Breaking & Entering Suspect
Recognize him? Detectives would like to talk to him about a breaking and entering at a fast food restaurant in Suitland. The investigation reveals the suspect broke into the business on Silver Hill Road on August 25th. Once inside, he stole several register drawers. Robbery Suspect
This suspect is wanted for stealing cash from a victim in the parking lot of a bank in District Heights. This happened on September 22nd at about 1:30 pm. The investigation reveals the suspect approached the victim, grabbed money from him and then ran away. The victim is an employee of a convenience store. Detectives Charge Suspect in 2001 Cold Case Homicide

Cold Case Unit detectives charged a suspect in connection with a homicide investigation in Temple Hills from 2001. The suspect is 36-year-old Antwan Green of the 400 block of Evans Ridge Terrace in Leesburg, Virginia. Green is currently in custody in Fairfax County on unrelated charges.

On October 9, 2001, at about 11:45 pm, patrol officers were called to the 3400 block of Brinkley Road for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located the victim, 24-year-old Taj Noble of Reston, in a field suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Based on information from a witness, detectives developed Green as the suspect and subsequently charged him in this case. Detectives believe the fatal shooting may have stemmed from a dispute over money. Green is charged with first and second degree murder. He is awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.

Suspect in Sunday’s Homicide in College Park in Custody

Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting inside of a College Park apartment on Sunday. The suspect, 21-year-old Davie Serpas of the 9500 block of 48th Place in College Park, was taken into custody early this morning in Washington DC. He’s accused of fatally shooting 24-year-old Rogelio Sierra-Duran of Hewitt Avenue in Silver Spring.

On September 24th, at about 5:25 am, patrol officers were called to the 9300 block of Cherry Hill Road for a shooting. One of the victims, Sierra-Duran, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Preliminarily, the second victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and the victims got into an argument while attending a party at the apartment. That argument escalated into the shootings. 

Serpas is charged with first and second degree murder. He’s in custody in the District awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Capitol Heights

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision in Capitol Heights. The victim is 29-year-old Carlos Price of Hylton Street in Capitol Heights.

On September 24th, at about 7:30 pm, patrol officers were called to Walker Mill Road at County Road for the report of a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV.

The preliminary investigation reveals Price was on a motorcycle traveling eastbound on Walker Mill Road when, for reasons which remain under investigation, he collided with the back of the SUV. Price died of his injuries several hours later. The driver of the SUV wasn’t hurt and remained on the scene.
