Detectives Investigate Homicide in Capitol Heights

Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Capitol Heights on Saturday. The victim is 23-year-old Deandre Hodge of Cedar Street in Southeast Washington. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

On December 3rd, at about 7:00 am, patrol officers were called for a welfare check in the 4700 block of Mann Street. The victim was found outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this fatal shooting.
