PGPD Investigates Fatal Crash Involving Motorcycle in Bowie


The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash in Bowie involving a motorcycle. The victim is 36-year-old Ali Blackshear of Emerson Street in Northeast Washington.

On December 15, 2014, at about 5:50 pm, patrol officers were called to Laurel Bowie Road south of Powder Mill Road for a crash involving a motorcycle. When they arrived, they found Blackshear suffering critical injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The second driver was not seriously hurt.

The preliminary investigation reveals Blackshear was traveling southbound on Laurel Bowie Road when he veered into an oncoming lane of traffic to avoid hitting a stopped car. Blackshear collided with a Honda CRV that was heading northbound.
