PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Greenbelt


The Prince George's County Police Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision. The victim is 58-year-old Armado Fernandez of Greenbelt Road in Greenbelt.

On September 30, 2014, at about 8:40 pm, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Greenbelt Road and Aerospace Drive for the report of a pedestrian collision. When they arrived, they found Fernandez in the roadway with critical injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries on October 1, 2014.

Fernandez was struck as he crossed Greenbelt Road. Our preliminary investigation reveals he was not walking in a crosswalk at the time. The driver remained on the scene. She was not hurt.
