PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Upper Marlboro

Updated August 1, 2014: The victim is identified as 69-year-old Patsy Stokes Burton of Nelson Drive in La Plata.

The Prince George's County Police Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Upper Marlboro.

On July 31, 2014, at about 10:35 am, patrol officers responded to Main Street and Water Street for the report of a pedestrian collision. When they arrived, they found a woman underneath a bus. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the woman was trying to cross Main Street when she was struck by the bus. Investigators believe she was in a crosswalk at the time. The bus driver stayed on the scene.
