PGPD Releases Video of Brazen Cell Phone Accessory Robbery

Updated June 5, 2014:  Thanks to tips from the community, we've charged a suspect with this robbery. He's identified as 36-year-old Desmond Chapman of the 1300 block of Saratoga Avenue in Northeast Washington. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for him on June 4, 2014. He's charged with robbery and related charges. Chapman is currently being held at the District of Columbia Department of Corrections on unrelated charges.





The Prince George’s County Police Department is asking for our community’s help in identifying this suspect.  He is wanted for an armed robbery in Mount Rainier.


On May 13, 2014, at about 3:45 am, the suspect walked into a convenience store in the 3100 block of Chillum Road.  He approached the employee and implied he had a weapon.  The cashier gave the suspect money from the register and several packs of cigarettes.  The suspect then grabbed a cellphone accessory display, which he placed in the trunk of a dark colored car. 

The suspect is described as an African American man approximately 30 years old, about 6’ and 165 pounds.  He was wearing a blue baseball cap, blue jacket and gray shorts.
