PGPD K9 Teams Compete for Iron Dog Title

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Canine Section will prove it’s at the top of the pack at the Virginia Police Canine Association’s 13th Annual Iron Dog Competition this weekend.

Eight PGPD K9s and their handlers are taking part in the event.  The competition is set up to test the strength, stamina and overall cohesiveness of the teams.  They’ll face several obstacles including scent tracking, searches and how they react to environmental distractions.  Here are a few of the competitors:

Cpl B. Peters & Budo

Cpl M. Cicale & Gamble

Cpl R. Smith & Tron

The event takes place this Saturday in Manassas, Virginia.  The public is welcome to attend the free event.
