Suspect Sought in an Attempted Armed Robbery of Cab Driver on Cooper Lane

     The Prince George’s County Police Department’s District I Investigative Section is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery of a cab driver in Landover Hills.


     On July 10, 2012, at approximately 2:04 p.m., the victim picked up the suspect from the New Carrollton Metro station and drove him to Cooper Lane Elementary School/Academy located in the 3800 block of Cooper Lane. Upon arrival, the suspect asked the victim to drive to the rear of the school. When the victim refused, the suspect pointed a handgun at him and demanded money. After a brief struggle, the suspect shot the victim in the leg. The suspect fled from the cab without any money. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

     The suspect is described as a black male, dark complexion, 5’10”, 170 pounds, approximately 20-years-old, with short hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a yellow design on the front, khaki cargo shorts, armed with a handgun.
