PGPD Partners with the One Warm Coat Organization - Warming Communities One Coat at a Time

Prince George’s County, Maryland… The Prince George’s County Police Department’s District V C.O.P.S. Unit is partnering with the One Warm Coat Organization to sponsor a Coat Drive beginning October 8, 2011, to December 15, 2011, at the District V (Clinton) Station.

One Warm Coat is a national non-profit organization that supports and encourages coat drives. It helps individuals, groups, companies and organizations across the country collect coats and deliver them to local agencies that distribute the coats free to people in need. More than one million coats have been provided to those in need at no cost since its inception in 1992.

“The coat drive for families in need is yet another example of how our officers with the Prince George’s County Police Department are taking a vested interest in our communities. Hopefully our community partners will come out to support this important initiative”, said Major Jason Bogue, Commander of District V.

Collection boxes are located at various public locations throughout Prince George’s County. Please refer to the One Warm Coat Website: www.onewarmcoat.org for collection points near you. For more information, please contact the District V C.O.P.S. Unit at (301) 877-3627. Corporal Jessica Mercer may be emailed at: jrmercer1@co.pg.md.us.
