Police Make Quick Arrest in Homicide on Oxman Road

Prince George’s County Maryland… The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested 60 year old Jonathan Kelly, of the 7600 block of Oxman Road, in connection to the murder of David Smith early this morning.    
On July 31, 2011, at approximately 2:40 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 7600 block of Oxman Road for a report of a cutting.  Upon arrival, patrol officers found 46 year old David Smith, of the 7600 block of Oxman Road, suffering from trauma to his body.  He was pronounced dead on the scene. 
Investigation has revealed that Smith and Kelly, both tenants of the residence on Oxman Road, had become engaged in a physical altercation when Kelly stabbed and fatally wounded Smith.  Kelly has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder and his custody has been remanded to the Department of Corrections.
